Objectives of the course

The degree course aims to train professionals with:

• solid basic training in methodological, historical, linguistic, educational, philological and literary, historic and artistic studies
• good knowledge of at least one European language
• competences of basic information technology techniques and fundamental tools related to the field of liberal arts, with particular reference to e-resources that facilitate the study and teaching of Italian language and culture.

Career opportunities

The purpose of this course is to direct the student towards teaching Italian as a second language in Italy and abroad and towards the pursuit of activities for the promotion and diffusion of the Italian language and culture, including the management of relevant linguistic and cultural issues faced by immigrants in Italy; towards the teaching of liberal arts and literature in secondary education, towards the completion of a post-graduate degree course.

Students can choose between two curricula:

• Teaching Italian language and culture to foreign students
• Competences in History and Literature for the Italian school

It is also possible to be awarded a double degree, choosing between the following options:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Italian and Licence LLCER d’Etudes Italiennes from Université de Normandie-Caen (France) 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Italian and Bachelor’s Degree in Italian from Hanoi University (Vietnam)
